Introduction:
This is the genealogy of the ancestors of Theodore (Ted) Charles Anderson and Sara Carlene Shuttleworth.
Ted represents the third generation of this line of Anderson's in the United States. Andrew Eng Anderson is Ted's "Bestefar"
(grandfather). Ted has two generations before and two generations after him, so he's right in the middle. He has either direct memory of or a
good knowledge about this Anderson clan and most of the others too, going back over 100 years in this country and a lot in Southern Norway.
Ted has visited Risor several times and has a fairly good idea of what his ancesters were doing
over there back to about 1870. Ted's "Far" (father) Oscar Thoralf Andersonalways insisted
that they were direct descendents of Leif (the Lucky) and his father
Erik the Red who was born in the area in about 950. Probably almost everyone from Southern Norway claims that too,
but alas, before 1869 Ted's ancestors in Norway are a blank as far as official documentation is concerned. What little we have is pretty much hearsay.
The First Thanksgiving on Sara's side is very interesting and is well documented
back to the 1590's. Sara contributed the family stories of Prophetstown and the Gremlins.
Ted's first cousin, Nancy Mae Black, has greatly assisted in prepareing this Web Site and contributed to the family stories of the Blacks, the Irbys and the Tribbles.
Another cousin, on Sara's side, Marciene Shuttleworth Cook, has contributed greatly to the Shuttleworths family stories.

The GEDCOM (GEnealogical Data COMmunication) is a standard file format used by the Family History Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons) and has been adopted by many developers and users of genealogical software. The purpose of GEDCOM is to simplify the exchange of computerized historical and genealogical data.
The Mormons developed GEDCOM to help share information among interested parties regardless of what software they are using.
All modern genealogical computer programs such as RootsMagic, Family Tree Maker, PAF, Brothers Keeper, Generations, etc., have the ability to import a GEDCOM file. Check the help files in the program you are using to obtain details about how to do this.

All the Genealogy Data and Charts rendered on this Web Site are generated "on-the-fly"
by Active Server Pages obtaining data from a Microsoft Access 2005 Database. This database was generated by converting a standard GEDCOM file into an Access Database
using a program called GEDCOM2Access.exe.
This GEDCOM2Access Converter is a standalone Windows application written by Ted
Anderson.
The original GEDCOM file must be fully compliant with the GEDCOM Standard, Release
5.5.1 prepared by the Family History Department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. All modern Family Tree maker programs can generate such a file. The API for doing so can usually
found under the 'File' menu item listed as 'Export GEDCOM File...', or something similar.
With your Genealogy data in a GEDCOM file, GEDCOM2Access will convert it into a Microsoft Access 2005 database (Version 9.0).
Once your data is in the database, you can read, modify, or do anything else you want to using the standard Microsoft Access 2003 APIs.
This converter is a stand-alone executable, written in C# using Windows Visual Studio.NET, Version 2005 and Microsoft.NET Framework Version 2.0. It is been designed to run on the most current version of Windows XP (Professional) and Windows Vista. It has not been tested and is not guaranteed to run on anything earlier.
The GEDCOM2Access Converter generates 5 Access database tables. They are:
Individual,
Family,
Source,
Submitter, and
Relationship.
The Individual Table contains the information pertaining to all the INDIvidual Records in the GEDCOM file
identified by a GEDCOM Level 0 tag of @Ixxx@ INDI
(Refer to the GEDCOM Standard for details).
Likewise, the other tables contain all the information in the FAMily,
SOURce and SUBMitter Records. (
MULTimedia,
NOTE and
REPOsitory Records are not converted.)
The Relationship table is a lookup table used by the Relationship Chart to calculate the relationship between blood relatives.
The GEDCOM2Access Converter is Freeware. You can download it now without charge for your personal use.

You are not authorized to use GEDCOM2Access for any Commercial purpose or sell it for a fee to anyone else. You can make as many copies as you want, install it on as many computers as you want, and distribute it to anyone, as long as it is not for a commercial purpose and you do not charge for it.
Here is a screen shot of the GEDCOM2Access API with a cascaded view of all the available database table windows.

Tune "Voyage into Fate"
|
The introductory tune used on this page is "Voyage into Fate" composed by the famous
Broadway musical composer Richard Rodgers (1902 - 1979) as part of his suite of background music for the TV Series "Victory at Sea" which first aired in 1952.
This rendition is performed by the RCA Victor Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Robert Russell Bennett.
After creating the score, Rodgers said: "It was something new for me since no words were involved in the music. I had to express a mood and even a picture with music. In this way the job has been challenging."
The arrangements by Robert Bennett blended sound effects of natural elements such as crickets and frogs into the music, and airplane engines at F Sharp Minor matched the music score.
